Book Description
for Max Cleans Up by Rosemary Wells
From Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
When big sister Ruby finds Max’s bedroom an absolute mess, she quickly launches into a cleaning spree and tells him exactly what goes where. Max follows along behind her, rescuing treasured things such as sand, an old Easter egg, gum-on-a-string, and a melting popsicle by putting them all into the pocket on the front of his overalls. Wells’s mixed-media illustrations cleverly highlight Max’s mess by using collage to illustrate the items he puts into his pocket. (Ages 3-6)
