The retelling of an ancient Jataka tale will be more familiar to most American readers as Chicken Little, although the text here is considerably longer. Young's exciting pastel paintings seem bigger than life and nearly jump off the pages. The 11¼" x 10¼" book is perhaps most fully appreciated from a distance. (Ages 5-9)
